30th International Offshore Sailing Race "Cyclades 2024"

The Islands that we visit

SYROS - Finikas

Syros FinikasFinikas is a picturesque seaside settlement lying at the southwestern part of Syros, just 11 km from Ermoupolis, the capital town of the island. Finikas constitutes the second natural harbor in size on Syros, after the port of Ermoupolis. It is sheltered from northern winds, such as "meltemi", which blows during summer. Lately, there has been remarkable tourist development in Finikas, due to its amazing location and the satisfactory services offered by the tourist businesses around the settlement. This quaint harbor, has an organized marina offering all requested facilities (water and fuel supply, taverns, ouzeries, bars, cafes, a supermarket, Greek and foreign press), constituting an excellent shelter, a supply and mooring station for yachts and boats. The beautiful, scenic and lush beach of Finikas with the golden sand offers unique moments of rest and relaxation and gives the opportunity of agreeable walks, away from stressful everyday routine.

MILOS - Adamas

MilosMilos with its strange horseshoe shape, as emerges from the blue waters of the Aegean, bathed in bright light and adorned with white houses, Milos with the hospitable inhabitants, Milos with good tourist infrastructure, clean beaches and the remarkable monuments stealing the hearts of those who visit the island. In antiquity Milos flourished because of its mineral wealth. Inhabited since the Neolithic era (7000 BC) and soon prospered more than its neighboring islands thanks to obsidian, a black volcanic rock used in weapons and their tools. Adamas (or Adamantas) and the island in general, provides us with anything that will make our stay more comfortable and our holiday more enjoyable, combining relaxation and tranquility with its vibrant nightlife and entertainment. Here in Adamas, we can enjoy swimming, sunbathing or water sports on one of the two beaches. From Adamas, little excursion ships depart daily, making an island tour and stop at several beaches for swimming and eating in Kimolos (a nearby island).

SERIFOS

SERIFOSAn island surrounded by the foam of the Aegean waters, touched by the soft winds. Serifos is one of the most picturesque Cycladic Islands, with hundreds of coves and one of the loveliest capital towns in the Aegean Sea.
Serifos Town is built on an upright rock and is located just 5 km from Livadi, the port of the island. Whitewashed houses built according to the Cycladic architectural style, windmills, narrow cobblestone alleys, all combined to create a charming image. Churches, monasteries, a Venetian castle and an indefinable aura that is connected to the inhabitants’ well being and health and which is probably due to the island’s soil that is rich in minerals.
The island has also been attached to the mythological figure of Perseas, who was washed up on the island, locked in a box. Perseas grew up on the island and from here he set out to kill the terrible Medusa, who had turned Sifnos’ king, Polydektis, into stone and the island into a barren land.
